Tutoring Session 2 w/Youngsun
Date/Time/Location: Saturday, 2 July at 4:00am AEST (Zoom)
Student: Youngsun Kim
Not only will my blog posts describe the gains during the sessions, but they will also allow me to be transparent when there are challenges.
Although today’s session was canceled by Youngsun on very short notice, I learned a valuable lesson which seems to traverse over everything that I am involved in. Ah, the lesson of PATIENCE! ðŸ˜
Chain of events: I was super tired and had gotten only 2 hours of sleep prior to the session, and my entire body (including my hair follicles) seemed to ache from an intense session of Jiu Jitsu. Waking up was a major struggle. Nevertheless, I logged into the Zoom…waited…waited…waited some more. Crickets. 🦗 I texted Youngsun, which I established during our first session, that we will text for quick communication vice using email. There was no immediate response to my “Are you there?” text.
My second response was to contact Professor Kim and request a new student. While typing this lengthy email to Professor Kim, Youngsun finally responds with the infamous “Didn’t you get my email?” text. Apparently, she was in the process of moving and requested canceling the session about 2 hours prior to the session. I deleted my lengthy email to Professor Kim…haha, it was just way too early for the shenanigans. 😂
All in all, I still wanted to blog about the experience, despite it being canceled on such short noticed.
Note to self: Patience is good for the heart, mind, and soul.
